Starlight (Hyades)

Starlight PSD, XCF, and AI files can be found on my resources page—also be sure to check out the tutorials for getting started with Starlight. In-world, wearable Starlight skins are on the third floor of the Gnubie Store in Powder Mill or on my foggy parcel in Lippert. Off-world, Starlight skins are available via Xstreet.

And they're all still free.

What's changed in Starlight, from Pleiades:
  • New eyes (two options), nose (two options), lips, breasts (two options), navel, abs, and butt & kitty
  • New white and dark skin tones; greater contrast across all tones
  • New freckles
  • Easier makeup customization
  • Preset skin tones organized in Layer Comps (PSD only)

They look lovely! Every newcomer to Second Life should be pointed STRAIGHT to your skins.

I only arrived in SL after Pleiades had been released, so this is the first time I've been around to see you release something - very exciting!

On "old mistakes" - I honestly think you're being way too hard on yourself! And I kind of liked the "in your face licensing" notice! :) While the battle between open & closed will probably never end, and while the proponents of locked down culture will probably make zillions of dollars, I completely believe that open is where the power, the innovation, and the culture of our century resides. So it was, in fact, kind of gratifying to open that file and see the big notice... it sort of said, "Yes, you've come to the right place. Welcome to your future home."

I'm not aware of anyone in SL doing more important or exciting work than you. If that's a "mistake," then it's a mistake that should be repeated often! :)

I'm soooooo much happier with the B nose this time around. The nose in the Pleaides skin is what prevented me from really using it. (>_<)

It didn't take more than a few minutes and I was all tempted to go to work making some customs for myself using these as a base. =^-^=

I got it all done and now I'm a whole new and improved sexeh avatar! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! LOVE! LOVE! \(^o^)/

I'm really looking forward to the GIMP Tutorials!! (But I may just take a shot at it anyway...)

I though I'd better leave a comment on this for any other newbs like myself. I've had fun working with the skins in GIMP (still haven't figured out how to pick the skin colour..) But muddled along playing with making a drow skin desturating the skin and adding stars..every time I uploaded the face I got ugly messy lashes. Apparently though the lashes were transparent on the png they uploaded as white. I ended up using a tga instead and everything uploaded fine...and I have my drow skin!

Will you ever do another male skin? Our boys are dreadfully ignored.
